Q Where is the nearest car parks?
A The nearest car park is directly behind Danes Cottage on Danes Terrace. This
is a short stay car park. Long stay car parks are just up the hill in Westgate
or down the hill on Broadgate. A map and prices can be downloaded from the
location page. All public car parks can
be viewed on the MAP page, just follow the blue
icons.
Q What are the checkin and checkout times?
A We are very flexible on arrival and departure times but in busy periods
arrival is anytime after 16.00 hours and departure anytime before 11.00 hours.
Please let us know if you wish to alter the times.
Q How many people can Danes Cottage accommodate?
A We have a double bedroom and a single bedroom. A put me up can be arranged
which will bring the maximum number of people staying up to four. You can check
the size of Danes Cottage by going to the layout page.
Q What methods of payment do you accept?
A We can take online payment via paypal or if you prefer to send a cheque it
must arrive before your booking date. For short stays we will accept cash on
arrival at Danes Cottage.
Q How will I receive my set of keys for my stay?
A You will receive an e-mail or telephone call at least two days prior to your
stay giving details of your key access code for your stay. Please note key
access codes are change on every visit and are only valid on the day of check
in.
Q Can you recommend a restaurant to visit?
A In our experiance all the resturants in the Steep Hill and Bailgate areas are
excellent. Its just a matter of what your pallet fancies. Pleas note the do get
rather busy on Saturday evenings so it would be advisable to pre-book a table.

Q Can you accommodate cyclists?
A Yes there is a lock up in the rear garden for storage of cycles. Lincoln lies
on National cycle route number 64 which crosses Lincoln at the foot of the hill.
Q Are there any good walks around the city?
A Yes at the lowest points in the city we have the river Witham and the Fossdyke
canal, both have dedicated paths and stopping off places for meals and drinks.
Both routes are vehicle free and are very quiet. They both start in the Brayford
Waterfront area of the city a five minute walk from Danes Cottage. You can
always test your fitness with a brisk walk up Steep Hill and around the
Cathedral area again with very little vehicle movements in the area.
Q Do you
accept Ramblers groups?
A Yes Danes Cottage is on the route of The Viking Way long distance
footpath which runs from the Humber Bridge to Oakham you can use the cottage as
an overnight stopping off point. The route of the Viking Way is plotted on the
MAP page.
Q Do you
accept one night bookings?
A Yes the pricing structure is based around the longer you stay the
cheaper it is.
Q Are families
welcome?
A Yes there is s Playstation available with a selection of games.
Please let us know if you have a young baby/infant who may require a cot for
your stay.
Q Do you allow smokers in Danes Cottage?
A Sorry due to the four star quality assessment we have to maintain standards
for every guest at Danes Cottage would ask that all people refrain from smoking
during their stay.
Q Do you allow same sex groups?
A Yes, but guests are reminded of the maximum number allowable for fire safety
purposes.
Q Where is the nearest Internet connection?
A There is an Internet cafe just 50 metres away at the end of the street. You
can check out the location on the MAP page and
follow the white icons.
Q Are
there any arrangements for babies/infants?
A Yes we do have a travel cot please let us know when booking if you
would like it setting up for your stay.
Q I have
a SAT NAV what post code do I need to put in to get directions to Danes Cottage?
A LN2 1NB.
Q Where
is the nearest Tourist Information office?
A There is one a short walk away into Castle Square the other is in the
Cornhill just off the High Street shopping area again only a short walk. You can

Q Where can I get
details of the Heritage sites in Lincoln?
A All the places of interest are within a short walk from Danes
