Terms and Conditions

General Terms:

Thank you for choosing to book with Danes Cottage. We look forward to welcoming you. When you make this booking you are entering an agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions of booking below. Sub-letting of the holiday cottage is strictly prohibited. You must be over 18 years of age to book the cottage. We aim to ensure that the information provided is accurately conveyed in the brochure/website or advertisements. There may be small differences between the actual property and its description as we are always seeking to improve our services and facilities. The cottage is not considered booked until payment is made in full.

Payment:

For all bookings we require a deposit of 25% when booked. For a check in date that takes place within 8 weeks of making the booking, the full balance 100% is due on booking.  We will send you an email or letter confirming the booking and reminding you of any outstanding balance. The balance must then be paid at least 4 weeks prior to the check in date. Payment methods accepted are Sterling Cheque, Paypal or BACS transfer (bank details will be supplied on request). Please note you do not need a Paypal account to pay via Paypal. If you are paying via Paypal on the website then Paypal will deduct the full cost of the accommodation.

Prices:

The price of the accommodation includes Electricity, Linen, Towels, Hot water, Central Heating and Welcome Tea/Coffee. We are happy to make special arrangements to suit the occasion, by prior agreement. Prices vary depending on the length of time booked the break points are 1-2 nights, 3-5 nights and 6 nights plus.

Pets and Smoking:

For the comfort of all guests, we regret that we are unable to accommodate pets. For the comfort of all guests, smoking is not invited indoors.

Cancellation & Refunds:

Once you have booked your holiday, our agreement is a legal contract and your deposit is non-refundable within 4 weeks of the check in date. If for whatever reason you cannot take your holiday we will refund the full amount less any Paypal costs in full as long as we are notified 4 weeks prior to the check in date. For cancellations within the four week period prior to check in the full amount will be refundable less any Paypal costs less the deposit.

Non-availability of Accommodation or Services:

We would only cancel your holiday if your accommodation becomes unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would attempt to offer you alternative accommodation. However if this is not possible, or is unacceptable to you, then we will refund all monies paid by you for the holiday. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund. We cannot accept responsibility for breakdown in public or local supplies, including water or electricity. In the case of any breakdown the hirer is asked to notify us immediately. We will use our best endeavours in conjunction with the service company concerned to correct the fault as soon as possible.

Arrival:

Your accommodation will be available to you from 15:00 h on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged. Please try not to arrive earlier –we will still be busy preparing your accommodation, and we want you to be greeted in the best possible style. We will have supplied you with full arrival information prior to your visit. You cannot allow more than 4 people to stay in the holiday cottage due to fire precautions undertaken.

Departure:

Please be ready to leave the accommodation by 10:00 h on the check out day, unless otherwise arranged. Please try to leave the accommodation as clean as possible in similar condition to when you arrived.

Damages & Breakages:

Please take care of the property. Please report any breakages on your departure, we do not normally charge for minor breakages.

Liability & Insurance:

We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to have been caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment. It is the responsibility of the hirer to take out all necessary insurance for possible travel problems, sickness, accidents, death etc.

Data:

Any data collected during the course of this booking may be kept on computer.

Complaints:

Any complaints must be made known to us immediately. No complaints will be entertained after the end of the hiring period or after the hirer has departed.
